Read to Feed: The Food Matters

The Food Matters Cook Book

I love Mark Bittman.

I love the way he writes and the way he makes recipes so easy to understand and follow. He explains things. Unlike many cookbooks, I have NEVER found a mistake in one of his books. I loved his Fish: The Complete Guide to Buying and Cooking as well as How to Cook Everything. This book is packed with more than 500 healthy recipes that urge cooks to use vegetables, unprocessed fruits, beans and whole grains. Meat takes a back seat here… but these recipes are so tasty, you won’t even notice. Well, that’s not entirely true, but you get my point.

Hi…
I’m Christina Chavez

I was a TV journalist for many years, but with a house full of kids I decided to come off the road, go to culinary school and follow my passion for cooking. Mama’s High Strung is all about food… everything from creative recipe ideas to some really cool kitchen gadgets and cooking tips. I live in Chicago, but I love to travel and write about my food discoveries! You can reach me by email: mamashighstrung@gmail.com
