Try This: Rescue Me

October19

Sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in the day. Those are the days that Mama’s really high strung and needs every bit of help she can get. I know you know what I mean.

Well, just like GP has his “Rescue Club” ever at the ready when he plays golf… I have my “Rescue Sauce.” Thank you, Stonehouse 27.”

Stonehouse 27 Tarmarind and Garlic Cooking Sauce

Amazing things come out of Stonehouse 27’s little 12-oz jars. They make these gluten-free, low-sodium ready-to-use cooking sauces that make it seem like you’ve been in the kitchen all day… instead of driving carpool, running errands and taking the dog to the vet. (Oh, did I mention Sis’ school play is tonight and we’re sitting with her boyfriend?!)

These sauces are made with all-natural ingredients with no added salt, sugar or trans fat. And the exotic flavors are incredibly different: Spicy Cashews and Cream, Tomatoes and Chili, Dates and Tamarind, Cilantro and Coconut and, my favorite, Tamarind and Garlic. It really adds a new dimension to whatever you’re cooking: meat, vegetables, poultry or fish.

Tamarind and Garlic Pork Roast

Today, I browned a pork shoulder with a little flour and oil in a large Dutch oven on top of the stove. I added some onions, a can of coconut milk and poured a jar of Stonehouse 27’s Tamarind and Garlic sauce right on top of the meat.

I threw it in the oven for a little more than an hour (while I finished the wash). ..and viola! Make a salad and some broccoli and dinner’s done.

And so am I. It’s been a long day.
