This is funny. Or maybe not.

My girlfriend, Sheflisa, asked me to drop by to check out her mise en place before she started her Thanksgiving preparations. It looked like the housewares section of Bed Bath & Beyond. I don’t think anyone (except Mr. Williams of Sonoma) has such a vast private collection of kitchen tools.

Now, I’ll give her props for making sure she had everything she’ll use (that’s what mise en place is all about)… but really, do you need a plastic pop-up disposable turkey timer/thermometer AND an instant-read thermometer AND a leave-in oven-proof thermometer to cook one turkey? Talk about leaving absolutely no margin for error.
