Gadget Tree: The Foodspotting App

February6

I use my phone for a lot of things these days, especially when it comes to looking for a place to eat.

Well, deciding not only where to eat, but what to eat, just got a little easier.

The Foodspotting App reminds me of gazing into a bakery window to see what looks delicious. Photos taken by customers show you what’s good at a particular place nearby. No long, rambling reviews to wade through… in this case, a picture really does say it all.

The Foodspotting App helps you zero-in on a particularly fantastic dish by showing you photos of what restaurants have to offer. If you see something you like, you can bookmark it. If you don’t like a particular type of cuisine (sushi for example) you can have it removed from your feed.

And if you register (or become a foodspotter), you can join the fun by uploading a photo of a dish YOU love. How many times have you eaten some place a few times and ordered the same thing over and over again (GUILTY!) because it is sooo good? This App lets you give shout-outs to what you love without having to pass judgment on the rest of the menu.

The Foodspotter App is also great if you are craving something in particular… or if you’ve just read about a specific dish and simply don’t know where to find it.

Now, if I can just find an app that would magically remove the pounds added to my waistline once I’ve satisfied my cravings.

Hmmmm… now THAT would be real innovation…
