Gadget Tree: Do-It-Yourself Molecular Gastronomy

Have you ever been foamed?

Beet Foam

Trendy chefs have been redefining haute cuisine (and impressing us) with mind-blowing flavorful foams, tiny spheres literally bursting with taste and other wild avant-garde presentations for the past few years.

Haven’t you always wanted to know, “How’d they do THAT?!” All seems pretty intimidating, right?

Well…not anymore.

The folks at MOLECULE-R Flavors have come up with a way for you to push the boundaries of creativity with an incredibly easy D-I-Y molecular gastronomy kit. Now you can create foams, gels, spheres and emulsifications in your own kitchen: it’s cutting-edge culinary science in a box!

If you’re a foodie, you could throw a molecular dinner party… either with group participation or by creating everything on your own. Your guests will be amazed (and so will you).

Arugula Spaghetti with Balsamic Vinegar Pearls

The Cuisine R-Evolution Molecular Gastronomy Kit comes with five boxes of 10 sachets of the additives (derived from algae, calcium, gelatin and soy), as well as five cool tools (a food grade syringe, silicone tubes, pipettes, a slotted spoon and measuring spoons)… everything you’ll need to create amazing dishes like Arugula Spaghetti with Balsamic Vinegar Pearls. A step-by-step 50 recipe DVD is included, too.

Cocktail Time!

There is also a Cocktail R-Evolution Kit, for deconstructing your drinks (that’ll really get the party started!). Right now you can order both kits online.

One other thing… like all recipes, make sure you have everything on hand (mise en place!) before beginning your experimentation with the kit. Read the recipes thoroughly… it’s a whole new way to “cook!”

Now, get out there and get foaming!
