Kitchen Think: News You Need to Know

April6

Time for the weekly round-up of all the food news you may have missed… including that Gefilte Fish Cupcake Recipe (I’m serious…).

Burger King is really pushing the envelope, trying to change their image. This week they launched a new ad campaign with a few big name celebrities. They pulled Mary J. Blige’s ad (something about copyright issues)… but these two are worth watching!

Yesterday the FDA took a huge step to reduce antibiotics in food-producing animals. The Feds are responding to growing concern that the routine use of antibiotics in livestock feed could pose a danger to all of us.

I think it was hearing that there was ammonia in hamburger meat that got people all jacked-up about pink slime. Well, now it turns out, the food industry uses ammonia in a lot of things… probably something you’ve eaten today!

Next up, just in time for Passover… here’s a suggestion… Gefilte Fish Cupcakes!

Finally, here’s a little something to toast the winner of the Masters! Have a great weekend!
